OVERVIEW
The DOMA Accessibility App is a learning and navigation app designed for The David Owsley Museum of Art at Ball State University. While navigating the museum in person, viewers with vision impairments may find it difficult to navigate the exhibits, read descriptions of art pieces, and find necessary museum amenities such as restrooms, elevators, exits, and customer service desks. This app makes the museum experience more accessible to these individuals through the implementation of auditory and visual navigation directions, audio descriptions of art pieces, exhibits, collections, and events, and an in-app scanner to identify art pieces. With a simplified layout, a high-contrast color scheme, and the ability to personalize accessibility settings such as text size, preferred language, differentiation without color, contrast, and whitepoint, the app is easy to use for all individuals and makes the experience of learning about art readily available to a wider range of people.
